On this page you will find the proposed program for Salvatorian Youth for the week leading up to World Youth Day 2008. This week is known as the "Days in the Diocese" and is a chance for pilgrims to experience and settle into the way of life of their host country before the main event of World Youth Day. The Salvatorians will be coming together in the Broken Bay Diocese, which is north of Sydney city. Our Salvatorian program integrates the program being run by the Broken Bay Diocese.


July 2008

  • Monday 7th - Salvatorian Pilgrims arrive and meet with their host families. Pilgrims have a chance to settle into their accomodation. In the evening the Salvatorian home Parish, Gosford, will host a welcoming Mass for all Salvatorian pilgrims.

  • Tuesday 8th - Salvatorian Pilgrims spend time with their host families exploring the local area and some of the more unknown parts of Australia's beautiful central coast. In the evening Salvatorian youth come together at Gosford Parish for Mass followed by a reflection and prayer night.

  • Wednesday 9th - Salvatorian Pilgrims travel to the city of Newcastle via the serene Hunter Valley and experience more of Australia's incredible natural wonder as well some coast culture.

  • Thursday 10th - Salvatorian Pilgrims travel to the beautiful Blue Mountains and experience some of New South Wales' most amazing scenery.


  • Friday 11th - All Pilgrims who are spending the Days of the Diocese in Broken Bay attend the Create to Advocate event in Gosford. This event is a forum which will include creative activities and guest speakers with a special focus on social justice.

  • Saturday 12th - Individual Pilgrimage groups have a chance to make their own plans for the day. Australian Salvatorians will be available to help international groups get around. In the evening a large scale celebration will take place at Gosford stadium. This will be an eccumenical event which will incorporate live music and guest speakers.

  • Sunday 13th - Gosford Parish will hold an event for all pilgrims staying in the area.

  • Monday 14th - International pilgrims register for World Youth Week in Sydney.
